CUPID HAS A HEART ON:
A MUSICAL GUIDE TO RELATIONSHIPS

The Cupid Players, Chicago’s premiere musical sketch comedy group, are continuing the open run of their current revue Cupid Has a Heart On: A Musical Guide to Relationships. Performances are each Saturday night at 10:30PM at IO Theatre (formerly ImprovOlympic), 3541 N. Clark Street. Tickets are available for $20 by calling 773.880.0199 or at the IO box office.
Cupid Has A Heart On: A Musical Guide to Relationships is the longest running revue in IO history, having celebrated its second anniversary performance in June 2005. The show has received critical acclaim and entertained thousands of audience members. The Chicago Tribune says that it is “far better than some far more expensive relationship musicals in town…a show worth catching.”
The 75-minute revue consists of a series of funny sketches that move into song. All of the scenes and music were created by the ensemble under the direction of Brian Posen. Cupid Has A Heart On combines sharp writing and catchy songs with a witty take on relationships, love and life. The result is a musical sketch show that is raunchy, sweet, cynical, touching, smart, inane and – above all – very, very funny.
The Cupid Players is a non-profit theater company dedicated to elevating the art of musical sketch comedy. They have performed from coast to coast, including appearances at the New York Sketch Fest, Boston Comedy Fest, The Miami Improv Fest, The Portland Sketchfest, Chicago Improv Fest, The Seattle Sketchfest, Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, Laugh! Benefit for Gilda’s Club, and the Michiana Festival of the Arts. They have also appeared in an HBO showcase and on WBBM morning news.
